Building Envelope Inspector Jobs in Utah

Working knowledge of engineering design and analysis, including experience as a structural engineer or architectural engineer.

Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering and construction administration.

Strong Knowledge of the residential (IRC), commercial (IBC), and existing (IEBC) I-codes.

Working skills in Microsoft 365 suite, RESA, and construction industry inspection software.

Developing scopes for remediation and/or design documents for the repair of existing structures.

Reviewing information to investigate the standards or care pertaining to various participants involved in the design and construction of building projects.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education/Experience)

Combination of experience and education/training that demonstrates possession of the required abilities and knowledge; AND

Provisions of the California Building Code as they apply to minimum requirements and regulations of building construction activities;

Detect violations of building code requirements and substandard materials used in building construction activities; and

Willingness to continue education in the field of building inspection technology; AND

Obtain Building Inspector Certification within one (1) year of employment; AND

Updates inspection skills by in-house training and attending formal continuing education classes.

Two years of experience in a skilled construction trade, construction design, or construction supervision or municipal code enforcement.

Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and techniques of building construction.

Knowledge of building and fire code standards and Minnesota State Statutes.

Knowledge of the Minnesota State Building Code and its applications.

Knowledge of safety practices regarding the inspection of buildings.
