Birth Registrar Jobs in Texas

The RN reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager.

Experience: 1 year Medical/Surgical experience and experience in Obstetrics care preferred.

RN – New Beginnings Birth Center

Day and Night Shifts Available

May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.

Must have one year of experience utilizing medical terminology to analyze charts.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology concepts.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology.

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Must successfully pass the Spanish Language Oral Skills Assessment examination prior to employment.

One year of experience in birth registration, health information management, or general office with emphasis on customer service

Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations

Proficient PC knowledge to include computer literacy in Word and Windows software

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, to include proper grammar and accurate spelling

Knowledge of the components of the medical record

Provides assistance to parent(s) to complete the birth certificate worksheet. (EF)

RHIA or RHIT certification from the American Health Information Management Association preferred

2 years’ experience in records management, medical records, or birth registry required

Knowledgeable in CMS, Texas Medicaid, and other regulatory agency rules and regulations related to Health Information Management

AOP certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer (issued by Attorney General of Texas)

Knowledge of ICD9, rCDIO, and CPT coding classification systems and guidelines

Informs eligible parents of Texas laws and regulations regarding Acknowledgement of Paternity
