Ability to accurately interpret and follow established guidelines and protocols as you conduct data collection, data entry, and quality assurance/control.
Walking and wading in streams at remote field sites in the foothills of the Cascade mountains.
Duty Station: This position can be based out of Sweet Home, Lebanon, or Corvallis.
Approximate Employment Dates: September 25 - November 15.
Perform spawning ground surveys to document the spatial and temporal distribution of Chinook salmon redds using GPS.

Biological Science Assistant (Shellfish Data Technician)

Summarize seasonal shellfish harvest activities and offer recommendations for program improvements.
Conduct effort counts, query shellfish harvesters about their harvest activities, and collect samples of their catch.
Participate as field sampler to collect data about shellfish habitats, species composition, length, weight, and age.
Conduct periodic checks with commercial and recreational shellfish harvesters to ensure compliance, and report violations.
Monitor commercial shellfish harvest activities and assist with information records.
Enter data into Excel and Access databases, retrieve data, and generate data summaries, statistics, tables, graphs, charts, and other output products.
