Battery Systems Lab Manager Jobs

Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Engineering, Project Management and Facilities

Lead and manage laboratory design plans, modifications and expansions.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders, software developers, Project Manages and Technical Project Managers, vendors and partners

Planning, coordination, implementation and sustainment of lab and demo systems.

Lead and coordinate lab systems installations, inspection, replacements and repairment.

Establish and maintain asset inventory tracking, stocking stations, equipment orders, shipments to and from the lab space

Responsible for following good documentation practices and change management processes as outlined in our policies and procedures (e.g., SOP’s, SDLC)

Responsible for communication strategy in respect to application management and support. (e.g., regular meetings with stakeholders, meeting minutes, weekly highlights)

Work with stakeholders to elicit user/business requirements

Act as a Project Manager to support the implementation of new systems and processes

Oversee Managed Services Providers and vendors that support our applications

Work collaboratively with the CSV/Quality team to manage validation deliverables

Develop, document the engineering requirements for automotive traction battery systems. Lead other engineers and teams to balance requirements.

Lead the data analysis activities and interpretation related to battery field performance to guide requirements development and product improvements

Excellent MATLAB scripting skills or other languages e.g. Octave, Python

Knowledge of design of experiments, parameter fitting, optimization, and data regression methods

General knowledge of xEV Battery/Client systems, xEV Vehicle/powertrain operation

Thorough knowledge of electrification technology functionality and features on the system level.

Project management & partner management (60% of time required):

Arrange regular meetings with partner organizations ensuring they are happy with the process and our offers

Monitor and manage project performance against budget, scope progress according to planned milestones, expenses and revenue, and internal and donor reporting

Support the product manager in overseeing the external vendor(s) delivering the technical components of this project

Education: Bachelor in related field in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Sustainability Science, International Relations, and Economics or related

Experience: Minimum 6 years of full-time work experience, ideally project managing data driven websites or online visualization tools

Strong technical background in battery chemistry, electrochemistry, thermal management, and system integration

In-depth knowledge of battery testing standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance

Minimum of 3 years of experience in battery systems development, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or energy storage industries

Experience managing projects, and delivering results on time and on budget

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Develop and execute strategies for the design, development, and testing of advanced battery systems, including lithium-ion, flow, and solid-state batteries

Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance

Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)

Responsible for the tracking and management of provided overtime budgets and efficiency percentages for the department.

5+ years in a leadership, project or program management role.

Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility

Significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive

2 or more years of experience with electrified powertrains and battery management

2 of more years of project management experience

Lead interface for the Client supporting the Battery Pack DRE, Chief Engineer and Family Manager.

Work cross organization and functionally to verify battery software and hardware meet the system needs and battery pack requirements.

Minimum 1 years of engineering experience for automotive and related industries

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
