Senior Data Scientist (Battery Storage) responsibilities:

Senior Data Scientist (Battery Storage) experience:

Hands on analysis of large-scale time series battery data

Design of AI models and Python implementation, verification and testing

Implementation of performance metrics to assess the efficacy of the AI models

Extensive experience in microstructural analysis techniques, including but not limited to EBSD, TEM, XRD, and PDF.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of materials science and its application in the field of battery technology.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific results to diverse audiences.

Industry experience in advanced battery materials characterization.

Experienced with Li-ion battery post-mortem analyses.

Practice and model proper laboratory procedures in compliance with Corporate HS&E policies and maintain a safe lab environment.

Programming experience with Python (preferred), MATLAB, and/or JavaScript

Ability to work independently on multiple projects with complex requirements

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

In-depth interdisciplinary knowledge and experience in battery science, data modeling, and statistical analysis (minimum 3 years)

PhD in Engineering with a focus on statistical data analysis or data modeling, with at least 1 year of relevant experience

Proficiency in Python programming and object-oriented programming experience

Strong skills in data science software, including pandas, numpy, scipy, tensorflow, etc.

Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, kibana, influxdb, etc.

Highly punctual with exceptional interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail

Experience with battery fabrication and testing

Develop fabrication techniques for lithium-ion batteries

Experiment and analyze electrochemical data

Perform analysis on battery cell performance

Develop and implement test methods

Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields

Develop, document the engineering requirements for automotive traction battery systems. Lead other engineers and teams to balance requirements.

Lead the data analysis activities and interpretation related to battery field performance to guide requirements development and product improvements

Excellent MATLAB scripting skills or other languages e.g. Octave, Python

Knowledge of design of experiments, parameter fitting, optimization, and data regression methods

General knowledge of xEV Battery/Client systems, xEV Vehicle/powertrain operation

Thorough knowledge of electrification technology functionality and features on the system level.

Ph.D. degree in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry/electrochemistry, or related scientific background with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent

Knowledge in lithium-ion battery electrochemistry and their battery components

Skilled in safely handling air/moisture-sensitive chemicals

Plus with experiences of in situ/operando/ex situ synchrotron-based X-ray techniques (XRD, XAS, cell design)

Considerable skill in written and oral communication

PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related field

Demonstrated experience in successful execution of experiments in the general area of material processing, and specifically slurry development and coating

Recent graduate, early career or experienced professional; salary and title will match the career level of the successful candidate

Screen new proprietary active materials and commercially available components

Understand and interpret Slurry rheology, EIS and equivalent circuit diagrams and contribute to electrode modeling
