Previous 1-2 years Emergency Room Technician/EMT or equivalent experience preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations and hospital procedures preferred

Proficient communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills required

Skills in basic computer operation

High school diploma or GED required

Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position

Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification from the IAED

Certification by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch as an EMD

Read, write, spell, and speak in clear, concise English

Use correct telephone answering techniques, defined within policies and procedures

Must operate and be proficient in computer based systems and Windows based software programs

Analyze situations quickly and accurately, while taking effective action to assure public safety provider and citizen safety

We also offer a Sign-On Bonus - of $4,000 paid in three increments:

Two (2) years of experience providing basic life support level response prehospital care is preferred.

Employee will receive $2,000 after successful completion of DES New Hire Academy.

Employee will receive $1,000 after successful completion of the DES Stage Program.

Employee will receive $1,000 after successful completion of 12 months of employment.

May participate in councils, groups, or special teams; organizes other employees to accomplish a goal, facilitates training, develops and researches proposals.
