Job Title:Assistant Director of Athletic Communication

Status:Exempt, Full-time, 12 month schedule

Reports To:Director of Athletic Communication

Writes press releases and game stories for all athletic-related matters

Outstanding time management and multi-tasking skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position.

Experience with ticket management/sales software preferred

Unofficial academic transcripts, including those for SIUE. All candidates must provide transcripts for educational qualification verification and/or course work assessment

Possess managerial/supervisory skills needed to make decisions, set deadlines, plan and schedule work flow, provide customer service and foresee for future.

Minimum of two years of relevant experience in fundraising, sponsorships, and/or ticket operations

Medical, dental and vision insurance;

Coordinates support personnel for all athletic contests, including game management, ticket sales, security, athletic trainer and emergency personnel and apparatus

Handles all accidents and injuries in accordance with school policies, and applicable laws and regulations, including reporting and documentation requirements

Oversees the development of an annual budget and its implementation

Develops the interscholastic athletic schedules and officials’ schedules for all contests

Facilities Management: Manages and Develops Facilities

Develops academic support mechanisms for benefit of student-athletes including but not limited to: study hall, advising, postsecondary guidance, etc.

Recommends, Manages, Supervises, and Evaluates Staff

Ensures all coaches and staff are CPS and State certification compliant

Enforces the State and City board policy on equal educational opportunity.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sports program administration and/or interscholastic sports
