Overview An Assistant Watch Officer is a professional who assists the Watch Officer in the management of a ship or other maritime vessel. They are responsible for monitoring the vessel’s navigation, communications, and safety systems, as well as providing support to the Watch Officer in the event of an emergency. Detailed Job Description An Assistant Watch Officer is responsible for assisting the Watch Officer in the management of a ship or other maritime vessel. This includes monitoring the vessel’s navigation, communications, and safety systems, as well as providing support to the Watch Officer in the event of an emergency. The Assistant Watch Officer must be able to identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of the vessel and its crew. They must also be able to interpret and follow instructions from the Watch Officer and other senior officers. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of maritime navigation and safety systems

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid maritime license
• Previous experience working on a ship or other maritime vessel
• Knowledge of maritime navigation and safety systems
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions

• Knowledge of maritime navigation and safety systems
• Knowledge of maritime regulations and laws
• Knowledge of shipboard operations
• Knowledge of emergency procedures
Job Experience
• Previous experience working on a ship or other maritime vessel
• Previous experience in a similar role

• Provide support to the Watch Officer in the event of an emergency
