QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Training And Experience
Manages life support systems and participates in the design, upgrade, and installation of such systems.
6 months of related experience required.
Internationally recognized Open Water SCUBA diving certification required.
Husbandry and/or research experience with marine animals.
Experience with carpentry and plumbing is a plus.
Aquarist - Got And Changing Exhibits

Internationally recognized SCUBA diving certification required
Experience working with a diverse collection of animals including fish, invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians and birds is preferred.
General knowledge of natural histories for animals in assigned area and is familiar with filtration systems in assigned areas.
Assists with developing, executing and adjusting strategies to effectively meet the behavioral needs of assigned animals including enrichment and operant conditioning.
Assistant Aquarist - Animal Care

A high school diploma and 3 months of animal husbandry or related experience are required (paid or volunteer).
Experience with aquatic animals preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
In conjunction with the Environmental Quality Department, assists in managing water quality and environmental parameters in assigned exhibits and holding tanks.
Provides alternate coverage for other Aquarists and is available for cross-training, as assigned.
Assists with the coordination of volunteer staff.
