Assistant Chief Of Security Jobs

Develops policies relating to security operations. Makes revisions to current policies as required. Seeks approval through proper management channels.

May assist management in the establishment of long-range plans and corresponding schedules to achieve facility goals and objectives.

Oversees the daily functioning of all security unit operations.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations, rules, policies, and procedures for effective and efficient security operations.

Ensures that security personnel receive on-the-job security and safety training.

Plans and responds to emergency situations, directs searches for escaped offenders.

North Carolina Certified Law Enforcement Officer Certification required.

A minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience is required.

At least five years of law enforcement supervisory/leadership experience required.

College/university law enforcement supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

Community college law enforcement supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

Mandatory Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs)

Development of overall detailed security budget, and ongoing management of budget.

Work closely with the Director of Visitor Services to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and safe visitor experience.

At least 15 years of senior-level experience in law enforcement or a related role.

Significant experience with supervising and training security staff with a high level of customer service.

Experience successfully managing complex projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Hire, train and supervise key security staff necessary to open and operate the Center.

Ø Act 120 Certification is preferred, but not mandatory

Ø Basic knowledge of PA Crimes Code

Ø PA 235 Certification in Lethal Weapons

Ø 3 to 5 years of hands on professional work experience in security.

Ø Ability to exercise critical human relations skills.

Ø Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
