Pay rate: $22-$25 an hour DOE

Flexible hours negotiated upon hiring (20 hours per week)

Work with the CAN team to Organize and maintain paper and electronic files/documents through web-based file management systems (i.e. Google Drive).

Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities:

Manage the Executive Director calendar.

Manage shipping and mailing services for the CAN team.

Manage inventory of publications, office supplies, facilitation materials, etc. for CAN activities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Supervises the children, classroom or site, and all activities to ensure curriculum matches children ages and skill set.

Comply with all California Community Care Licensing requirements.

Maintains positive relations with parents, children, school personnel, and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

Knowledge of California childcare licensing regulations and acceptable childcare practices

Pediatric CPR & First Aid certifications through one of the following organizations (can be completed during the hiring process)

Do you have experience supervising a team?

Valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required

Supervise day-to-day activities of youth in the program

Lead enriching activities such as interactive games and arts & crafts

Uncover new and engaging ways to assist youth with homework

Must be 18 years of age

Must pass CAPE test or have a minimum of 48 completed college units

Arrives punctually to meet responsibilities on site;

Ensures program policies, procedures and requirements are met daily; Other duties as assigned.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT & BENEFITS:

Ensures the supervision and safety of assigned students at all times during program hours;

Provides instruction in academic and/or enrichment activities using curricular resources, lesson plans and materials provided by LEARN;

Provides small-group tutoring and/or homework assistance;

Supervises a group of children to ensure their health and safety, and to provide for a positive experience for each child.

Provides leadership for staff overseeing the activities of several groups of children.

Communicates with and maintains positive relationships with families. May conduct conferences.

Provides day-to-day leadership to staff and volunteers.

Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.

Provides assistance to supervisor and may fill-in during temporary absences.
