Overview The Affordable Community Director is responsible for the overall management of affordable housing programs and initiatives. This includes developing and implementing strategies to increase the availability of affordable housing, managing the budget and financial resources of the program, and providing leadership and guidance to staff and stakeholders. The Affordable Community Director is also responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Detailed Job Description The Affordable Community Director is responsible for the overall management of affordable housing programs and initiatives. This includes developing and implementing strategies to increase the availability of affordable housing, managing the budget and financial resources of the program, and providing leadership and guidance to staff and stakeholders. The Affordable Community Director is also responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.The Affordable Community Director will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing strategies to increase the availability of affordable housing
• Managing the budget and financial resources of the program
• Providing leadership and guidance to staff and stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Developing and maintaining relationships with local, state, and federal agencies
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the program
• Coordinating with other departments and agencies to ensure the successful implementation of the program
• Developing and implementing marketing and outreach strategies to promote the program
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the program
• Preparing and submitting reports to funders and other stakeholders
Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of affordable housing programs and initiatives
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Ability to develop and implement strategies
• Ability to manage budgets and financial resources
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies
• Ability to coordinate with other departments and agencies
• Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
• Ability to develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies
• Ability to monitor and evaluate program performance
• Ability to prepare and submit reports
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, urban planning, or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in affordable housing programs and initiatives
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial management
• Strong leadership and communication skills
