Youth Development Specialist - Impact - Mhs

MAJOR FUNCTION:

Creates and facilitates SBYSP program activities that support healthy adolescent development in a holistic, preventative, and positive manner. Provides mentoring, job readiness skills and employment training opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• 2 -3 years' experience working with adolescents.
• Associate degree with documentation of at least 3 years of full-time experience as a youth service worker.
• Bachelor Degree in a related field, Social Sciences/Education.

Certification/Licensure:

• First Aid and CPR required within 3 months of hire.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Possesses willingness to improve by attending seminars or educational programs geared to enhance skills and knowledge relative to adolescent development.
• Must demonstrate loyalty, reliability, tactfulness, honesty, integrity and discretion and exhibit professional appearance.
• Must possess strong organization skills; must exhibit the ability to relate positively with all levels of professionals.
• Ability to work flexible schedules with frequent interruptions.
• Excellent program development and facilitation skills with a strong background in the delivery of educational, recreational and employment services.
