X-Ray Welder Jobs

Overview:

• Weld in all welding positions and on various joint designs
• Expectation that final will meet internal policy standards and UT / RT acceptance criteria
• Selected applicants will be required to successfully complete a RT welding test along with satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period to demonstrate proficiency in X-ray welding.
• Responsibility for welding with high quality, speed, and efficiency
• Gouging of full penetration welds

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to work at heights, tightly confined spaces conditions as required
• Knowledge of welding procedures and various types of welding equipment
• Must be available to work all shifts
• Some lifting, climbing, bending will be required
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
• Electric Boat weld experience and/or training or at least 2 years welding experience and/or training from another company or Trade school
• Must be able to work in horizontal, vertical, overhead and flat positions

• Previous experience in Pulse, Spray, Mig and Stick.
• High School diploma / GED preferred. Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice
• Previous experience with mechanized welding
• Previous gouging experience

Skills:

• Strong mathematical skills preferred
• Ability to interpret welding and shipyard procedures, structural drawings, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams desired
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Applicants will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals and follow all written and verbal instructions as directed
