JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Maintain and use equipment and supplies necessary to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes, as ordered by the physician.
Essential Functions

- Other duties as assigned.
- Assists providers during in-office procedures requiring radiography as assigned.
- Prepares patients for radiological imaging procedures.
- Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods.
- Maintains radiographic supplies and orders as necessary.
- Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
- Cleans procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits.
- Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
- Ensures patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by OrthoSC

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional clinical environment. This position will not and may not act independently.
Physical Demands
Varied activities including walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Does require standing and walking for long periods of time. Assists with the transfer of patients, must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Travel
Occasional travel to other OrthoSC locations may be required as needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required qualifications
- Associates degree in Radiological Technology
- Valid SCQRSA (SC Radiation Quality Standards Association) license
- Completion of an accredited radiology/active license (ARRT)
