With corporate headquarters in Needham, MA a manufacturing facility in Norwood, MA, and a distribution facility in Norton, MA, we are comfortably located within the Boston metropolitan area.


Due to our rapid growth, our success is directly dependent on attracting and retaining the best possible talent across our teams. To this end, we are posting for a strong X-Ray Metal Detector Technician. This role will be based in our Norwood, MA manufacturing facility.


OVERVIEW OF ROLE:


The X-Ray Metal Detector Technician will be responsible improving the food safety and quality goals by learning and monitoring new x-ray and metal detector equipment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Monitor the functionality of X-ray, Metal detector and checkweigher at assigned intervals, document the findings, and addresses any rejected products.
  • Monitor modified atmosphere packages as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) among employees.
  • Perform calibration tests and set up for x-ray, metal detectors and checkweigher.
  • In the absence of an X-ray & Metal Detector Technician a trained designate on the shift will perform their duties.
  • Possess good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
  • Notify QA Technologist or QA Supervisor if equipment malfunction is identified.
  • Participate in pre-operational inspections.
  • Monitor HACCP for food safety as assigned.
  • Perform sensory evaluation of products (taste, smell, texture, and visual evaluation).


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


  • Possess good communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


The below physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


  • Ability to withstand working in a cold environment and stand for extended periods of time required
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; must have good vision.
  • Must be comfortable walking for extended periods of time and climbing stairs.
