Worship Leader Jobs

The Worship Leader will lead the majority of Sunday worship gatherings, oversee other worship teams, train and recruit volunteers, as well as join the Common Ground Church staff leadership team.

COMMON GROUND WORSHIP LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate Worship

Oversee, Plan & Lead corporate worship gatherings.

• Ensure sound doctrine is maintained in all music used within the church.
• Responsible for planning & leading church-wide worship services.
• Oversee & assist the planning of worship done by other leaders & teams.
• Lead the congregation, and worship team in corporate worship majority of the Sundays throughout the year.
• Ensure that other technical aspects of the services in order to maintain a distraction-free worship environment.

Recruit & Train

Recruit, train and organize instrumental, vocal and technical worship team members.

• Oversee training of Tech Team volunteers.
• Lead & develop the worship team and other worship leaders: We currently have young, gifted leaders who can be equipped and trained.
• Recruit & select worship team volunteers. Oversee & coordinate the volunteer schedule on a weekly basis.

Leading Ministry Teams

• Oversee worship team members as they serve.
• Regularly assess the current needs of these ministry teams & provide appropriate training.
• Supervise and lead other leaders.

Common Ground Church is a young, growing church in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, with a weekly attendance of around 85. Sunday gatherings are casual and fun. We are currently seeking a Worship Leader to join our staff. Our worshippers are young and contemporary, but appreciate classic, theologically rich/sound songs.

Reporting to the Lead Pastor, this role will plan and lead worship in the majority of our services, including handling team scheduling, rehearsals, song selection and arrangements, audio/visual needs, and recruiting and auditioning additional musicians, vocalists or tech volunteers as needed.

Experience in leading worship teams in a corporate setting is required. But we are a church passionate about seeing young leaders grow in their gifting. Must work well in a team environment, be able to lead and develop others with wisdom and grace, and have a desire to disciple young adults and college students. Experience with audio/visual equipment is preferred.

There are many other opportunities for ministry and leadership responsibilities within the church that can also be pursued based on gifts, passions and skills.

This is a part-time position.
Salary is contingent upon qualification & experience. Housing is an available option.
