SUMMARY


Lincoln Electric is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist for our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The Workers' Compensation Specialist is responsible for management of workers’ compensation claims from onset to resolution while working across departments to ensure integration with the leave program, compliance and the best possible outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Files related documents and postings to maintain SI policy.
  • Participates in injury reviews and process improvement activities to reduce the incidence and severity of work related injuries. Prepares injury related data for support and prioritization of safety projects.
  • Works with third party administrators to ensure accuracy of wage calculations, indemnity payments, bill processing and excess reimbursement.
  • Builds a rapport with employees and management to ensure interdepartmental collaboration on claim-related issues and coordination of Return to Work.
  • Reviews, investigates and makes decisions regarding compensability and appropriateness of claims through discussion with employees, managers and safety team
  • Understands relevant leave and disability policies inclusive of FMLA, ADA and works across departments to ensure compliance
  • Processes and documents workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Complete and record job analyses as needed by direct visualization and measurement of job tasks, recommend job modifications to accommodate restrictions.
  • Reviews prepared files for independent medical examinations / file reviews and ensures completeness of file and accuracy in completed reports.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to safely walk to and navigate the production floor and sit to do computer work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in Self Insurance OR 6 years of Ohio BWC self-insurance experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with Excel experience
  • Flexibility to multi-task and balance multiple projects at once
  • Understanding of federal, state and local leave laws
