We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claim Representative. The position requires the following but is not limited to:
  • Handle investigations by phone, mail and on-site investigations.
  • Become familiar with insurance coverage by reviewing insurance policies, endorsements and forms.
  • Review medical bills, authorize payments and ensure payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Contact employers, employees, hospitals, doctors and attorneys to secure information to properly adjust the claim.
  • Work towards the resolution of claims, and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
  • Examine new workers’ compensation losses; maintain control over existing workers’ compensation claims and set proper reserves.
  • Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, and pay benefits that are owed.
  • Service the needs of agents, policyholders and injured workers.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Organize and interpret data.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Educational coursework in insurance are desirable.
  • Two or more years of insurance claims handling experience, preferably in Workers’ Compensation or related experience.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Above average communication skills (written and verbal).
