TSummary:

The Work Based Learning Coordinator (WBLC), develops, plans, organizes, monitors, and evaluates all work-based learning opportunities for students at their assigned schools. These WBL activities may include Extended Learning Opportunities.

The WBL Coordinator develops partnerships with area business/industry; maintains accurate data on all work-based activities; develops or assists with in-service activities which include CDF training; and/or provides technical assistance to support career development initiatives relating to both EEDA and G-Plus.

Additional days in the summer will be used for monitoring apprentices, facilitating summer certification opportunities and working with CTE summer camps.

Coordination of WBL and ELO activities (50%)

·Develop, schedule, monitor and evaluate work-based learning opportunities for students including job shadowing, co-ops, apprenticeships, tours and virtual opportunities.

·Develop materials and/or other components including curriculum frameworks for work-based learning programs.

·Research occupational/career opportunities in the region using current publications, industry visits and interviews with business professionals.

·Provide in-service training as needed for counselors and career specialists pertaining to work-based learning activities and area business partners.

·Collaborate with Career Center and feeder high schools Administrators, Counselors, Faculty, and Staff

·Work directly with your assigned high schools to inform and promote to faculty, staff, and students of the LaunchGVL internship program.

·Assists counselors and specialists with structured work-based learning activities at all middle and high schools.

·Work directly with the Transition Liaison(s) to coordinate and capture work-based learning experiences for special education and employability credential students.

·Maintains work-based learning records and prepares reports for dissemination to administrators, school board and state department of education.

Career Development (25%)

·Coordinates the effective use of CTE advisory committees to develop work-based learning activities.Will work directly with the Assistant Director to assist instructors in developing a strong group of business/industry partners.

·Coordinates CATE Camp for rising eighth grade students.

·Coordinates the collection, compilation, and interpretation of follow-up data and evaluates the effectiveness of work-based learning activities (develop a tool for evaluation)

·Attends district or state workshops, meetings, and seminars.

·Provides counselors with career specific opportunities that are aligned with the 16 career clusters.

·Provides Career Development Facilitator training as needed by the district.

·Serves on ADEPT teams as appropriate.

Public Relations & Communications (25%)

·Develop and submit grant requests as needed to support CTE courses

·Serve on the Instructional Leadership Team at an assigned Career Center

·Attend weekly leadership team meetings at your assigned Career Center

·Coordination of Business Partner of the Year nominations and selection

·Regular attendance at area Chamber and other Business meetings

·Submit articles to district communication department as appropriate

·Provides support and coordination for the Completers Ceremony

·Assist with the coordination of CTE advisory committees

·Participate in recruitment and retention activities at the assigned Career Center

·Serve on the School Improvement Council

·Commitment to developing and maintaining a school culture focused on students' best interest in academic performance as well as social and emotional development

·Interpersonal skills that promote collaboration, professionalism, and relationship building

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Work-Based Learning Coordinator Team Lead and Executive Director of College and Career Readiness.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Some supervision of students will be required.

Education and Experience:

Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and be certified as or working towards a Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate (GCDF).Individual should have experiences relating to education and business collaborations and partnerships.

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of people.Ability to operate computers and related software. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.Employee must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, public, businesses and other staff members.

Term of Employment:210 Days

Salary Schedule: Administrative, I $57,486 - $85,710

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually according to Board Policy
