Position Description
HGL is seeking a Word Processor II in our Overland Park, KS or Phoenix, AZ office, although there is the potential for remote work for the right candidate. We are looking for a candidate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint) as well as Adobe Acrobat. The candidate will be responsible for word processing of project deliverables, which include large reports containing graphics and tables. The candidate should possess an eye for design and page layout as well as have experience proofreading documents for consistency, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Responsibilities/Duties
What You'll Be Doing
The person hired for this role will be responsible for:
  • Generating tables of contents and lists of tables, figures, and appendices.
  • Creating and editing report headers and footers.
  • Inserting footnotes, endnotes, and references.
  • Formatting large Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for proper viewing/printing.
  • Converting Microsoft Word, Excel, and other files into PDF documents and compiling into final deliverable.
  • Importing figures, photographs, and spreadsheets.
  • Adding line numbering.
  • Adding headers, footers, and page numbers to PDF files.
  • Formatting large reports using Microsoft Word styles.
  • Bookmarking and linking PDFs files.
Required Skills
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Intermediate level in Adobe Acrobat.
  • Maintain a reasonably high degree of speed and accuracy with typing and formatting.
  • Work with teams across multiple time zones.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office 365 Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
  • High school diploma.
  • Follow directions carefully.
  • Work as an individual contributor in a team-based environment.
Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Word Processing Certification.

  • Experience with 508 Compliance.
