Wifi Mac Software Engineer

Qualifications:

Looking for a creative and self-motivated firmware engineer who has one or more of the following areas,

* Strong hands-on experience in WiFi data path design (Contention, Aggregation, QoS)

* Strong hands-on experience in WiFi CTRL/MGMT protocols (Association, Power save, WPA security)

* Used debug tools such as sniffers and driver/FW logs to debug WiFi radio behavior

* Experiences in testing / validating WiFi products (APs / Laptops / smartphones)

* In-depth understanding/knowledge of the latest 11ax/be features (preferred)

* Embedded Linux programming with WiFi driver SW development(OpenWRT experience preferred)

The Major Role For This Position Is To Design, Develop And Debug 802.11 MAC Layer Firmware including:

* Facilitating the MAC hardware design - lay out functionality requirements, perform simulations and provide feedback to hardware teams

* Diagnosing and solving system performance issues, and making suggestions for system wide performance improvement

* Understanding the interaction of MAC and other(TCP/IP, PHY) layers, and be able to identify and solve potential problems

* Ability to model, analyze and simulate wireless networks, mostly MAC layer

The ideal candidate will have:

* Significant experiences in embedded SW/FW development and proven understanding of embedded system fundamentals

* Proficient in debugging embedded software system with logging, JTAG and logic analyzer.

* Solid understanding of 802.11 standard, CPU ISA, RTOS and pre-silicon simulations

* Experience of participation in the complete life-cycle of product(s) are definitely a plus.

Skills:

Eembedded C/C++ programming is a must. Assembly is a plus.

Experiences in unit testing methodology with reasonably good scripting (python and bash) abilities

Experiences with network drivers/simulator. Understanding of TCP/IP suite of protocols are a plus.

The work involves a lot of collaboration and interaction with other groups. Good communications skills and teamwork spirit are required.

Education & Experience:

BS with 2+ years of relevant industry experience

MS/PhD in EE/CS
