Job Description
Wellness Coach Families and Youth Innovation Plus is hiring a Full-Time Wellness Coach The Wellness Coach develops, facilitates, coordinates, and monitors multiple systems of response and services through coordination, networking, assessment, screening, and referrals. This position is also responsible for assisting program, division, and agency leadership in ensuring the relevancy, responsiveness, efficacy, and appropriateness of services provided to BIPOC youth, system involved youth, LGBTQ+ youth and emerging adults across program, division, and agency-wide services. This role is also vital in providing leadership in the areas of advocacy, community education, and strategic planning to the program, division, agency, and community in an effort to create safe, informed, affirming, and supportive space(s) for youth, including the LGBTQ+ youth community. Other areas of responsibility are providing individual and group support services, such as presentations, life skills development, psychoeducational programming, harm-reduction, disease prevention, event coordination, and other areas that have been assessed as areas of need for the youth and emerging adult populations. The Wellness Coach is to provide all coordination, resources, support and services in a manner that is consistent with the agency's philosophies and evidence-based / evidence-informed practices. This position requires priority focus on delivering excellent, quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive customer service to program participants and their families, community partners and stakeholders, and agency personnel. This position is a key role within a division that provides a responsive, informed, unbiased, affirming, and inclusive approach and menu of services to a very diverse population, including individuals from LGBTQ+, marginalized, underrepresented, and BIPOC communities who have varying life experiences including: substance use and abuse, homelessness, gender variance, traumatization, legal involvement, system involvement, domestic violence, mental health needs, teen pregnancy, learning challenges, poverty, etc. Qualifications: Lived experiences highly valued related to LGBTQ+ community, homelessness, system involvement, Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Public Health or equivalent Minimum of 3 years' experience in working with youth and young adults in the following service areas and/or populations: substance abuse & recovery, homelessness, LGBTQ+ community, system involved (juvenile justice, protective services, etc.), BIPOC/underrepresented, mental health treatment, trauma-informed care, learning disabilities, etc. Must pass a CYFD Criminal Records Check Must maintain a full certification of the following trainings; CPR/First Aid and CPI Must maintain a valid NM Driver's Licenses.
