The Welding and Undercarriage Inspector is responsible for the incoming and final inspections of Weld Shop work in process to include machines, attachments, fabrication projects. Working consistent with Wagner Equipment’s vision of “One Professional Team”, ensures work completed is of a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Pay rate: $28.35 - $42.00 per hour
Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Other duties as assigned by manager
  • Picks up clean cards and delivers machine to steam rack
  • When necessary, consults with Shop Manager on the writing of the inspection report
  • Performs an operational and visual inspection on machines before and after repair work is completed
  • Goes over machine inspection with customer to get customer’s OK for repairs
  • Writes up inspection report
  • Schedules machine and priority on the board
  • Quotes profit and loss for repair of equipment and reviews report with Shop Coordinator
  • Performs necessary tasks to repair or make adjustments on machine

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • In some instances, performs Lead duties in Lead’s absence, or as workload requires

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years customer service experience
  • 3-5 years administrative/clerical experience
  • Journey-level technician with 10+ years’ experience in heavy equipment repair industry

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or more
  • Squatting/Kneeling
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Knowledge of Wagner Equipment Co.’s various departments’ operating practices preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Intermediate knowledge of DBS and CRM/Sales Link

  • Indoors and Outdoors
  • Noise: Loud
