Job Description

Expected Pay: $18-24/hr

The Welder is responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials with precision. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of metal fabrication (plasma cutting, frame building, frame fitting, custom fabrication) and has received formal welding training, ideally leading to a credential.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Must be able to follow all safe work practices
  • On the spot thinking and trouble shooting
  • Operate the appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes
  • Grind or clean weld joint of work piece
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Fabricate new or replacement parts

Skills and Specifications

  • Substantial knowledge of GMAW & GTAW welding processes
  • Ability to take direction and work well with a team
  • Fabrications with welding and layout
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulation guidelines
  • Steel/Aluminum welding
  • Read and interpret owner’s manuals, equipment schematics, and work orders.
  • Wrenching
  • Experience with carbon steel welding (GMAW)

None


Work Environment

This job operates in a workshop environment. This role routinely uses standard carpentry and electrical equipment and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand. Lifting of up to 75 lbs may occur.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Overtime may be available if required. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs.


Travel

Not required but may be offered occasionally.


Required Education and Experience

  • 3+ years’ proven welding experience, to include experience in industrial and/or commercial welding is required
  • Welding certification (or other trade certifications) are desired
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required


Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
