North Star Ice Equipment Corporation is currently seeking a Welder Fabricator to join their team in Seattle, Washington 98108.

About the role:

Seeking skilled experienced Welder Fabricator responsible for various tasks on the production floor. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical and construction experience, excellent communication skills and a high degree of mechanical aptitude. The individual will be responsible manufacturing and assembling metal parts and reporting issues with day-to-day activities directly to the production manager.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Duties:

• Able to use a variety of welding equipment, hand, and power tools, such as drill motors, grinders, calibers, and micrometers. Reports issues or problems with tools or equipment to supervisor.
• Assist with maintenance of work areas and equipment.
• Determine material measurements.
• Fully capable of reading technical schematics and blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output.
• Adheres to all safety guidelines required by the company and by law.
• Produce strong, clean welds ensuring quality and tolerance.
• Fabricating components for industrial ice equipment, including but not limited to layout, welding, cutting, drilling, grinding, assembling, and inspecting assembled product for quality standards, affixing labels, or company logos to exterior of products, etc.
• Use lifting equipment such as forklifts and cranes to complete product assemblies.

Education/Experience:

• An Associate Degree or a Technical Trade School program completion is preferred but not required.
• 2.5- 3 years’ experience working as a Welder Fabricator
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills/Abilities:

• Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding, TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals.
• Possesses knowledge of the structure and function of production equipment and tools
• Possesses Able to work on foot for extended periods of time.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
• Blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbols.
• Prior experience welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills and able to multitask.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation commensurate with experience – ($29.42 to $33.35) per hour; Based on experience.
