Job Summary
A professional welder works with a variety of materials to fabricate new parts, equipment, pressure vessels, and much more. Skillful handling of many types of metal as well as numerous fabrication tools are an essential part of the opportunities you would find while working with Cimarron. An ideal welder like you will work steadily with minimal supervision and will at times work in a team environment as well. Taking directions from others are essential skills we are looking for in a prospective candidate like you.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with minimal supervision or with a small team of other welders to complete large and complex projects. Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems, in addition to fabrication duties.
- Employ physical strength and endurance to complete all welding tasks.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules
- Execute welds in a professional manner, examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with tape measure, verify fit form and function using level, straightedges, square or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Must have extensive knowledge of Mig and Flux core welding operations.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Knowledge of occupational; hazards and safety precautions applicable to the welding trade
- Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirementJob Skills and Qualifications
- Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard. Keep workstation clean and orderly to retain a safe and operational work environment.
- Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible.
- The ability to set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment.
- Fabricate new metal components in accordance with supplied drawings, WPS, and PQR with all applicable standards of safety and performance.
Required:
- Ability to read and write
- Mathematical skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrates proficiency in reading blueprints and can correct detected errors. Familiarity with welding equipment and workshop safety protocols
- Must show participation in workplace safety observation checks.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must adhere to Cimarron’s safety and quality standards.
- Leads safety initiatives, such as: Safety Committee, Morning toolbox talks, all required daily inspections.
- Ability to safely and proficiently layout new/remanufactured (complete remanufactured unit) vessels, fit, as well as the understanding of fitting while welding, advanced repair for hydro including full coupling replacement with full pen, per quality standards (Minimal supervision)
- Ability to pass 6G pipe welding test
- Ability to pass 98% of all x ray work safely and per quality standards
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
- Ability to perform QC Inspection hold point checks.
- Must be able to train other employees per ASME code specifications and all aspect of job duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years minimum of related work experience

- Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds following safety procedures.
- Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to push/pull 100 pounds following safety procedures.
- Must be physically able to meet post offer testing requirements.
