University Communications has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Web Developer position.

- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during development and production.
- Test and debug code to ensure proper functionality and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and stakeholders, to develop website and application requirements.
- Create and maintain databases using SQL and other database management systems.
- Optimize websites and applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Develop and maintain backend systems using technologies such as PHP, Python, or Node.js.
- Design and develop websites and web applications using front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with one or more back-end web development technologies such as PHP, Python, or Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of front-end web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with website and application optimization techniques.
- Experience developing custom themes and plugins for Drupal, WordPress or other similar CMS.
- Familiarity with databases and database management systems such as SQL.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as web developer or similar role.
Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a sales/marketing environments in which brand storytelling and lead generation are important business drivers
- Experience working in a higher education environment
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $66,123 to $84,109.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
