Description of Work Unit


CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University ( CSU ). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.

Position Summary


The web application developer will work as part of a team developing a web-based software application. The primary duties of this position include writing code for web application interfaces, applying software development best practices, and testing and debugging web applications. The web application developer will work 20-40 hours/week.


Position Minimum Qualifications


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) or equivalent work experience.
  • At least one year of professional experience in web development using JavaScript ES5 and React.
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.


Preferred Qualifications


Familiarity with the following technologies is desirable:


  • Git or other version control system.
  • Typescript
  • SQL , relational databases
  • ESRI ArcEnterprise or Geographic information systems ( GIS )
  • Redux
  • Redux Toolkit
