About Us
Lycon.io is a emerging fintech start-up building a no-code algorithmic trading platform integrated with Binance, Coinbase, Alpaca APIs and more. We are creating an accessible pathway for everyday traders to participate in quantitative finance and algorithmic trading with in-house algorithms, backtesting, and neural network optimization. We are currently in preliminary discussions with multiple venture capital firms and are looking to deliver a minimum viable product by Q4 2023.
You will be responsible for the design and the coding of an Electron.js desktop app with oversight by the Head of Engineering and Co-Founder, Anas Arkawi, who will direct you through the project and assist you through the tasks that need to be done. You're expected to be able to write HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to build a user interface with the required integrations relating to the Electron.js framework, which includes integrations using the libraries such Inter-Process Communication libraries provided by the Electron.js package and Axios to facilitate the movement of information in and out of the user interface.
Responsibilities
- Envision a complete UI structure and turn it into a code from a mock design provided you by the Head of Business Operations, Nima Kamali, current UCLA student.
- Apply UI and programming knowledge to design and program user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and employ their libraries such as Tailwind.
- Optimise the web application design to be efficient and responsive.
- Use JavaScript to build desktop application based on Electron.js with oversight and assistance by the Head of Engineering.
- Create and make decisions on the user interface code consistent throughout the entirety of the UI code base.
Qualifications
- Has experience working with Electron.js, Axios, and Tailwind.
- 1-2 years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of HTTP protocol (e.g. idea of RESTful APIs).
- Should be currently enrolled at a High School or a university/college level program related to the field of computer science, software engineering, or related fields such as STEM fields or economics.

- Experience working with databases based on SQLite, MySQL, MongoDB, or other related DBMS software.
- Experience with working on personal projects with multiple moving parts.
- Should be a great team player and be able to clearly communicate problems and progress.
