AECOM is seeking a qualified, motivated individual in our Virginia Beach office to support our highly successful and expanding Virginia and East Region Water Business. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with project team members, have a high level of initiative and motivation to deliver quality results, have strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a team environment providing value-added, innovative solutions.

The candidate’s duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide guidance to junior-level team members
  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses on a variety of water resource projects
  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
  • Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
  • Work within a team as a senior-level member or project task manager
  • Conduct field investigations and observation of construction projects
  • Assist in development of design, engineering and construction management principles for resiliency and storm water infrastructure
  • Determine permitting requirements for projects and conduct code analysis reviews.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
  • Experience using one or more of the following: GIS systems, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, AutoCAD / Civil 3D
  • Ideal candidate will have a background in hydrology and hydraulic analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental or similar Engineering field AND four (4)+ years of related experience with focus in water resources, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • P.E. license or ability to obtain within 1 year is preferred
  • More than 5 years of water resources experience
  • Master's degree is beneficial

Offered rate of compensation (Washington DC location only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $140,000.
