ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Virginia Beach, VA office is seeking an Entry-Level Water Resources Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data collection and field work
- Analysis of impaired watersheds and identification of potential areas for stormwater treatment
- Support projects related to stormwater permitting compliance for municipal, industrial and transportation clients
- Prepare reports for stormwater analyses and designs
- Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects
- Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, analysis and design of conveyance systems, design of stormwater management facilities, coastal impacts, and floodplain analysis

Qualifications
- FE preferred
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Familiarity with stormwater management design, Low Impact Development/green infrastructure design, floodplain management, storm sewer design, grading and site design
- Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis, water quality analysis
- 0-1 years of professional environmental/civil engineering experience
