This position will be based in Cincinnati, OH and is eligible for relocation assistance.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform broad, varied, and diverse engineering design tasks on assigned projects under general supervision of task lead or project manager, including detailed design, construction drawing development, engineering report writing, , and regulatory and permit agency coordination.
  • Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Coordinate technical activities and designs with team members in other disciplines and serve as a liaison between task manager and design team.
  • Participate in the permit process, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, and governing entities.
  • Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project. Monitor project progress, inspect construction sites, and verify calculations and placements.
  • Assist project managers with developing and managing the project scope including fee estimates, financial management, staffing and schedule.
  • Engage in the design of civil and/or river restoration projects in various phases including planning, design, construction, and decommissioning.
  • Assist the task manager in preparing conceptual, preliminary, and final design work products for various project types and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to creatively apply technical knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience with ArcGIS or other Geographic Information Systems software.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis (HEC-HMS,HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, HY-8)
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude, desire to support team success, and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing construction documents (drawings, technical specification, opinions of probable construction cost).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D tools including grading, corridors, and network development.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Ohio required or ability to obtain within one year of start.
  • Experience: With a minimum of five years of related work experience in civil engineering design, with an emphasis on water resource projects (dams, levees, flood control structures, stormwater management, and/or river restoration)
