Join our dynamic family of employees, supporting the morning shift in our main warehouse. The role of Warehouse Worker is hubbed out of our manufacturing headquarters located in Santa Rosa, California and is the perfect opportunity to learn our operations from the ground up! We are a family-centric, fun local organization with solid roots the last 45+ years in the baking!
This role supports all warehouse functions including picking, packing and pulling orders for all outbound shipments. Also supports production with pulling ingredients and moving all finished product to the warehouse in preparation for our external customers in an accurate and timely manner. Efficiently and safely transports, sorts, and stocks materials using company pallet jacks and forklift. Will train and forklift certify and train in-house. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm with a half-hour meal break!
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS (ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Maintains a safe, clean working environment
- Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence
- Picks, packs, and ships materials and products
- Processes all packages for shipping; processes returned merchandise
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager
- Participates in quality improvement efforts
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures
- Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to hand dolly, forklift, electric dolly, pallet jack, and/or elevator
- Conducts physical inventory counts; replenishes stock from back-up locations as needed
- Properly and accurately documents warehouse records and transactions
- Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS):
- Acute attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Basic computer proficiency; will work with hand-held devices and company ERP system
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Forklift certified
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- One to two years related experience or equivalent
- Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Prompt and regular attendance onsite is required
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Wear appropriate safety equipment
- Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
- Climb a ladder to a height of at least 20 feet
- Walk, bend, and climb stairs
- A large percentage of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are cool and noise level can be moderate to high
- Stand for long periods of time
