Warehouse Worker Jobs

Position: Warehouse Worker

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 3 months contract to hire

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr.

Parts Picking, Tagging received parts, placing received items on the shelves

Moving parts, machines, and assemblies within the building as necessary.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pack and/or crate parts for shipment
• Accurately pull, count, and issue products from racks for delivery to various production areas.
• Crating
• Put products away in assigned locations with proper tags attached.
• Load and unload trucks as necessary
• Inventory checking/counting, annually and as required
• Provide backup for other areas of the department as necessary
• Distribute received goods to machines or shelves
• Include, but not limited to assure that all safety procedures and policies are followed
• Assist in the implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Make local delivery/pick-up runs using a company truck

Education/Experience: Include, but not limited to:

• High School Education or Equivalent
• Some Warehouse

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Include, but not limited to:

• Clear vehicle driving record
• Load and unload trucks as necessary
• Knowledge using MS Office products
• Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks
• Computer literate
• General warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability able to comprehend verbal and written instructions

Working Conditions:

• Safety steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required
• Typical manufacturing facility conditions.
• Employees must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours
• Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) working conditions
• Kneeling, squatting, bending over, and standing for long periods of time may be required to perform assigned tasks
• The facility is heated in winter, but not air-conditioned in summer
• Long pants and a sleeved shirt (short sleeve at a minimum) are required

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony + sex offender)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10 panels for recreational drugs and opiates)
• Applicants for employment must be U.S. Citizens or national, U.S. permanent residents (i.e., current Green Card holders), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
