JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Warehouse Specialist Sub Function:

Salary Plan: TPW


Summary/Objective

To provide services in the box reclamation department, inventory control, and warehouse processes and procedures including a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, or tools as required and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
  • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisitions or invoice.
  • Operates a 4K to 15K manually controlled gasoline, diesel, electric or liquid propane gas powered Material Handling Equipment (MHE) daily to transport goods, store crates/containers, pull material for outbound loads and materials of all kinds in a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or other establishments.
  • Loads and unloads fiberboard and wood SPI containers and material onto GFE vehicle conveyances.
  • Must perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) of forklifts within the operational servicing requirements and sign the Daily Vehicle Inspection Card. At the end of the monthly inspection period, all inspection cards must be turn in and a new Daily Vehicle Inspection card put on the forklift.
  • Responsible for the loading and unloading of containers and material onto vehicles with or without load crews when applicable.
  • Secure cargo against inclement weather, pilferage, and damage. Operate vehicle component Material Handling Equipment (MHE), as required.
  • Report all vehicle deficiencies to supporting maintenance facilities.


Shall load or unload vehicle with or without helpers and keep vehicle in good working order.
  • Examines stock to verify conformance to all standards and specifications.
  • Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size, or type of material.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Prepares periodic special or perpetual inventory of stock.
  • Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusals of shipments.
  • May mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
  • May distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
  • May make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
  • Maintains accurate inventories of finished products and raw materials.
  • Audits inventory, routinely.
  • Weighs, dispositions, and reports waste materials, as assigned.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of assigned area(s).
  • Assists in the handling of the vendor managed inventory process.
  • Responsible for reporting low raw material inventory or damaged materials.
  • Notifies supervision of any mistakes or unexpected occurrences in a timely manner consistent with severity of problem.
  • Completes all required reports.
  • Performs all job duties using safe work methods. 27.Complies with Attendance Policy.

28.Works normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Works overtime as required.

Work Conditions

Climate controlled warehouse, however, it may require activities outside of warehouse


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with 1 hour lunch

Travel

  • Must be able to travel for business, such as customer relations, industry meetings or training, as required.
  • Transports GIB employees to and from the RAFB Gate at the start and end of shifts when the Lead is unavailable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Able to perform at a high level of dependability with little or no supervision.
  • Operate machinery, training provided.
  • Drive lift truck safely in area where pedestrians are present.
  • Must be able to work 8 hour shift, 5 days per week, overtime as required.

Must be able to use data collection devises and use and understand computerized system for keying and retrieving information.

Preferred Qualifications


  • 1 year of warehousing and material handling strongly preferred
  • Forklift and reach truck driving experience preferred

Education: High School Diploma or GED certification
