Job Description
Your Role


As Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for supporting Emerging Nutrition and retail warehousing needs, driving forward an Ardent Mills organizational-wide warehousing strategy. You will ensure Ardent Mills’ warehouse capabilities and capacity are sufficient for current and future planned volume. You will also drive the financial and non-financial (e.g. KPIs) performance of Ardent Mills’ warehousing network to hit internal targets.

Your Responsibilities


  • Work with warehouse analysts on the logistics team within Supply Chain to set inventory variable levels and manage the inter-warehouse logistics network
  • Drive ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day, Safely) results though warehouse performance improvements. Track, manage and report all key warehouse KPIs (e.g., utilization, receiving / put-away accuracy, receiving / put-away cycle time, inventory age, inventory turnover, inventory to sales ratio, order lead time, perfect order rate, back-order rate, etc.)
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain) to prioritize, propose, coordinate, and implement warehousing improvements
  • Create business cases and propose warehouse expansion, improvement, and headcount initiatives. Develop the plan and lead the multifunctional team to open new locations or transition from current locations.
  • Track, manage and report warehouse personnel levels and performance
  • Identify, propose, and help implement tech enablement opportunities in warehouses to better automate and monitor / manage performance
  • Manage warehouse food safety status and coordinate with RQT or a third party to schedule and conduct warehouse food safety auditing at warehousing facilities
  • Work with warehouse leaders, managers, and staff to manage performance on KPIs and identify, implement, and leverage new technologies for WMS to drive value
  • Work with other Supply Chain leaders to help create, manage, and execute enterprise-wide warehousing strategy across core flour and Alternative Grains businesses (e.g., Pulses, Ancient Grains, Organics & Heirloom Wheats, and Retail Bakery, etc.)
  • Coordinate with legal for warehouse contract evaluation and dispute mitigation. Lead contract and service agreement renewals, including RFP negotiations and contract language requirements.
  • Work with Retail, Sales, Operations, and the broader Supply Chain function to manage the warehousing component of the S&OP process, including forecasts around future warehouse utilization and requirements


Essential Skills And Experience


  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of warehousing management experience
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Understanding of food plant operations, S&OP, and distribution practices
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Multi-client Warehousing contract negotiations


Good To Have


  • Experience with food manufacturing

  • Ardent Mills is headquartered in Denver, CO. The preference is for this role to be based in Denver, but a remote work arrangement may be considered for the right candidate

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:


We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $82,900.00 - $110,541.20, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 10% Annual: Individual Target.
