This position serves in a regional capacity. Persons serving in this role are required to assume residency in the county identified under the Conditions of Employment section which includes Morgan, Brown, Cass or Scott County and will be required to work from their home location as a base of daily operational headquarters to service their designated worksites.
This position is a union position; therefore, provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position.

Position Overview
The Warehouse Examiner Specialist position serves as a frontline regulator in the Bureau of Warehouse and performs examinations and audits of Illinois licensed Grain Companies to ensure compliance with the Illinois Grain Code and maintain financial solvency, so Illinois farmers receive payment for grain sold or stored with Illinois licensed Grain Companies. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of grain warehouses, accounting principles, aptitude to use a laptop computer, and the ability to work with many different personalities within the Illinois Grain Industry. Job Responsibilities
1. Conducts complex field examinations of grain warehouses and grain dealers.
2. Prepares examination reports and inspection sheets
3. Examines grain warehouses for storage capacity and condition of grain.
4. Conducts special audits in connection with acquisitions, bankruptcies, and liquidations of grain dealers and grain warehouses.
5. Participates in training and the training of others.
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in fields related to accounting, auditing, business and agriculture.
2. Requires two (2) years professional work experience in grain warehouse examination or related field.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires a valid driver’s license.
2. Requires ability to travel and be on travel status when instructed.
3. Requires the ability to successfully pass a background check.
4. Requires the ability to pass a pre-employment physical including a drug and alcohol screening.
5. Requires ability and physical agility to reach above shoulder level, bend, stoop, and/or twist as it relates to the collecting, examining, and measuring of grain inventories.
6. Requires ability and agility to safely climb a ladder to work at heights up to 120 feet.
7. Requires the ability to lift and carry job related tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
8. Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
9. Requires the ability to walk and/or crawl through stored grain.
10. Required to assume residency in Morgan, Brown, Cass or Scott County and will be required to work from their home location as a base of daily operational headquarters to service their designated worksites.
