Job Description

Introduction


The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Division of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for two Warehouse Associates for the Office of Preparedness and Emergency Health Care (OPEHC). DHS is located at 1 West Wilson Street in the heart of downtown Madison, near the State Capitol, the Madison Metro route and the Capital City bike path.

Position Summary


The Warehouse Associates will be responsible for receiving, staging, storing, and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies and equipment for the OPEHC incident response. This position will coordinate with the Warehouse Planners and Warehouse Supervisor.

In this position, you will also:

  • Coordinate shipment schedules.
  • Oversee the fulfillment and shipment of those orders.
  • Ensure completion of appropriate memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
  • Provide technical assistance to ensure scheduling and distributions occur as needed.
  • Coordinate with other agencies, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to ship warehouse inventory as approved.
  • Engage in health equity work to seek to protect and promote the health and safety of all people in the state of Wisconsin.

OPEHC staff will center in our work the needs of those most impacted by emergencies and will build relationships of accountability and partnership with communities impacted by our work.

Salary Information


The starting salary is $18.84 per hour (approximately $39,000 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an Inventory Control Coordinator – Advanced and is in pay schedule and range 03/11.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

  • Experience ensuring approved requests are picked accurately and shipped in a timely manner (e.g., inventory distribution, etc.).
  • Experience with purchasing and receiving (e.g., coordinating inventory replenishment, ensuring received inventory is counted, labeled, and put away, etc.).
  • Experience with warehousing or general inventory control procedures (e.g., monitoring inventory levels, reconfiguring pallets, cycle counting, etc.).

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with inventory control for PPE and other related medical supplies and equipment.
  • Experience providing recommendations for quality improvement and streamlined efforts.
