POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Procurement will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and will build and lead a best-in-class procurement strategy and plan. The VP Procurement will be responsible for working with functional leaders to maximize the value they receive from vendors & service providers to meet their business needs and objectives. This process will include supply analysis, supplier identification, sourcing execution, contract negotiation, delivery planning and monitoring, purchase execution, and performance management and improvement.

The VP of Procurement will be responsible for procurement transformation including identifying cost savings opportunities, process reviews and improved service levels by management of new/existing vendor relationships through contract execution and negotiations. The successful candidate will have experience in negotiating with strategic vendors, providing input and expertise with partners to agreements, and having knowledge of compliance requirements. This individual will participate in cross-functional projects to drive cost efficiencies and create a value proposition for the enterprise, as such the ability to communicate, organize projects, and lead diverse stakeholders through the procurement process, is crucial for success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify or qualify new vendors in collaboration with other departments.
  • Establish metrics to drive vendor performance.
  • Consult and advise senior leadership teams/executives on the impact of procurement and vendor management activities on projects and budgets. Identify cost-savings and cost-reduction opportunities and enterprise-wide consolidation.
  • Manage complex negotiations with key vendors that require a detailed strategic plan and that have a direct correlation with operational needs and/or goals.
  • Lead the vendor lifecycle process from procurement to termination.
  • Build Procurement and Vendor Management Center of Excellence (CoE) to help transform procurement in accordance with Five Below’s goals and objectives.
  • Drive change while developing strong partnerships with other functional leaders.
  • Acts as a change agent by proactively seeking voice of the client and acting on opportunities for improvement in the sourcing and contracting process, or within specific third-party relationship agreements.
  • Develop procurement and vendor management strategies for long-term growth, short-term output and execution of best practices.
  • Recommend procurement structure to include building of high performing team by driving engagement, development, and team success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering or a related area is required.
  • Strong strategic agility, critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes resulting from a dynamic and growing business environment.
  • MBA or other advanced degree and a professional Procurement/Supply Chain Management designation (e.g. CSCP, CPM) is desired.
  • Experience with developing and implementing successful cost saving initiatives.
  • Expert understanding of procurement trends and best practices.
  • Ability to present professionally to executive-level management and contract providers and vendors.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of global procurement and vendor management experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing a procurement function.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and/or vendors as project leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in developing, achieving challenging goals.

The pay range for this position is $212,000 - $280,000 annually. Pay may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience; educational background; and geographic location. Dependent on the position offered, benefits, bonus and incentive payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
