VP of Marketing
As the Vice President of Marketing, you will be a marketer skilled at leading a team to develop brand marketing, media strategies and branding to achieve and over deliver on business goals. A veteran marketer who is passionate about delivering strategic marketing vision to execute high-impact media campaigns across all channels that generate revenue and drive awareness, consideration, and bookings. In this critical leadership role, a culture of innovation will be fostered to push the boundaries on content, channels, and campaigns. This leadership position will partner with our digital and creative agencies to propel our brand presence and strategically drive our marketing efforts in all paid, owned, shared, and earned channels. A tactical leader is required for this role, who also must be a doer and technically perform the aspects they oversee and lead.
Job Responsibilities
Lead a full-funnel cohesive media strategy across traditional and digital marketing channels including planning, creative development, optimization, and budgets.
This position owns all marketing elements including look, feel and tone of voice for the Aqua-Aston and independent properties brand development.
Collaborate with the property GM and leaders to strategically implement campaigns and offers to target specific need periods and segments to drive revenue in each of the hotels leveraging the independent branding of each asset.
Related to the Marriott, Hilton and other third party franchised properties, ensure that the team is leveraging all brand tools and strategies to maximize performance while holding true to the brands they represent.
Craft a clear vision of key indicators of success. Develop and monitor KPIs to measure creative initiatives across the business. Create a culture of test-and-learn to drive strong ROI that is understood and championed by other business leaders.
Attract and obtain new guests and increase engagement with current guests leveraging all elements of the marketing mix.
Educate and inspire marketers and the rest of the organization to embrace full-funnel best practices.
Motivate and inspire teams to tell impactful stories, both in innovative and engaging campaigns they bring to life, as well as internally sharing the business-critical impact our brand marketing campaigns drive for the organization.
Through experience and expertise translate the strategic visions into actionable plans including the deployment of internal and external resources as necessary to execute on the vision.
Responsible for the management of the annual marketing budget, ensuring that expenses are captured and allocated correctly out to properties, along with monitoring of actual results and communicating future forecasted spend variances to the budget.
Work with our core leadership team to identify and lead strong ways of working and cross-functional collaboration, grow our marketing team culture and engagement, and build trusted partnerships.
Build and lead the team through providing day-to-day leadership and creating developmental opportunities through mentoring, coaching and a culture of accountability.
Identify the specializations and expertise required to build a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing marketing team.
Provide strategic guidance thru the marketing team to the property level Directors of Sales & Marketing to help in their achievement of their topline initiatives, including overall market positioning and market share.
Serve as a strategist and storyteller. Help evangelize the marketing strategy and demonstrate how all aspects of the customer-centric strategy drive incremental, profitable performance for each hotel brand and hotel. Actively solicit feedback on opportunities for further refinement in our efforts to hotel owners and other stakeholders at minimum annually through the sales and marketing business plans.
Oversee, negotiate, and contract multiple vendors and business partners, setting expectations, instilling accountability with ongoing engagement to ensure successful partnerships.

Deep understanding of customer-centric, modern marketing (multichannel media, content, social, CRM, etc.).
Proven track record of leading a marketing team working in both centralized and remote environments.
Experience developing and rolling out forecast driven brand and campaign guidelines across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Strong collaboration and partnering skills to serve as a trusted advisor to our sales and marketing leaders, hotel owners, and other key partners (Hotel General Managers, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Communications).
The successful candidate will have highly developed analytical and negotiating skills and be highly adept at establishing and maintaining professional relationships.
Superior communication and presentation skills, both oral and written are necessary to be successful in the role.
Passionate in driving results of their effort and others; can influence others to take direction to execute on strategy through tactical methods; and is comfortable in prioritizing their work and that of others.
The ability to think creatively, be nimble and be capable of oscillating between big picture thinking and granular details with a strategic lens.
Willingness to travel +/- 25% of the time or when needed, travel will ebb and flow with the needs of business and peak around new hotel openings.
Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, communications or hospitality or related field. A Master of Business Administration is a plus.
Minimum 10 years in consumer and brand marketing leadership roles, with a minimum of two (2) years in a VP+ leadership role responsible for marketing strategy.
Minimum 2 years in the hospitality industry, resort, and condominium property experience highly desirable.
