Have you run a fabrication shop before? Do you understand how to blend the art and science of creating physical brand environments?


As the Vice President of Fabrication, you will oversee the execution of our client’s visions by effectively managing a team of specialists in carpentry, finish, technical design, and metals. You are a master in transforming an idea into its core components and delivering them to the site with a team of skilled craftspeople. Your expertise in brand experiential activation and mobile touring is evident through the successful leadership of multiple projects for Fortune 500 clients. You are known for collaborating successfully with both internal teams and external teams/providers to deliver a product that is thoughtful yet conscious of material choice, finish, and site needs.


You are a master of exceeding client expectations and increasing efficiencies which accelerates profitability. You also possess the skills and knowledge necessary to transform a base trailer or truck into a space that is imaginative yet operationally perfect. With effective communication and leadership skills you enable subject matter experts on the team to tackle complicated tasks daily and push your leaders to audit progress.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Cross-Collaboration. Work closely with multiple teams within GMR including Client Consulting, Design, Technology, Finance, etc. to identify the best construction methods, engineering, and mechanical design solutions for unique scenic elements and mobile touring designs.
  • Process Optimization. Foster clear communication and information flow within the Design Team throughout the construction document completion process. Develop systems, policies, and procedures for cross-functional teams in order to complete innovative and effective ongoing projects. Oversee a leadership team managing concurrent projects through all phases, including purchase, fabrication, finish, load in, installation, and load out.
  • Leadership + Relationship Building. Establish clear expectations and provide employees with written goals, feedback, and resources necessary to meet job requirements. Develop and maintain working relationships with clients and vendors; create/pitch decks to clients.
  • Financial Management. Manage the preparation and organization of project schedules, production specifications, estimates, and project status updates. Manage budgets (costs, materials, sales), estimates and bids for large and small-scale events. Oversee inventory levels and cost analysis/pricing as needed. Participate in business meetings to outline strategy, planning and future investment for production elements.
  • Fabrication Expertise. Demonstrate expertise in scenic carpentry, millwork, welding, finishes, mobile/experiential vehicle fabrication, and live event construction, as well as a solid understanding of commonly accepted rigging practices and general knowledge of A/V. Responsible for overseeing fabrication, installation, and load out for multiple projects.
