The Fabrication Technician performs operations associated with the fabrication and testing of wafer level pressure sensor devices. All work takes place in a well-ventilated cleanroom.


Principle Duties an d Responsibilities:

  • Measure and inspect wafers using microscopy, profilometry, and thin film tools.
  • Assist engineers with experiments, data collection, qualifications, and reporting.
  • Operate equipment in performing photolithography, mask alignment, metallization, and wet etching with glass and SOI wafers.
  • Safely handle lab equipment according to regulatory standards.
  • Follow established work instructions and document production metrics throughout fabrication process.
  • Process parts as per priorities and deliver with minimal supervision.
  • Work with engineers and technicians to resolve production problems and suggest improvements.
  • Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, Quality System Policies, and FDA regulations.
  • Safely handle chemicals typical of use in the above production processes, including hydrofluoric acid and tetramethylammonium hydroxide.
  • Perform equipment set-up. May perform routine preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Intermediate skills in speaking, writing, and reading in English
  • Comfortable wearing full cleanroom attire and working under yellow lighting
  • Able to follow written operational procedures
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with wet processing methods, with extensive knowledge of properly storing, pouring, measuring, mixing, and dumping chemicals
  • Strong sense of patience, diligence, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent fine motor skills, including the ability to handle small, fragile materials using tweezers
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years of related work experience in semiconductor/MEMS industry
  • Ability to multi-task and approach tasks with detail-oriented manner
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Great work ethic and ability to work well with others
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Disco dicing equipment a plus
  • Associate degree or higher in technical field
