Visiting Instructor and Director of the Gustie Entrepreneur Cup Business and Economics Description Position Details: Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time one-year position of Visiting Instructor and Director of the Gustie Entrepreneur Cup in the Department of Business and Economics to begin September 1, 2023. Department Information: The mission of the Business and Economics Department is to equip students to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems through excellent, liberal arts education and experiential learning, which enables students to become ethical and entrepreneurial leaders. The department has a history of providing entrepreneurial experiences, including the highly popular Gustie Entrepreneurial Cup which began in 2016. Things you will do: Teach 5 course sections during the academic year. Typically, 3 in the Fall, 1 in January, and 1 in the Spring. Primary teaching responsibilities will include courses in entrepreneurship and management. Direct the annual Gustie Entrepreneur Cup. The successful candidate will oversee the annual https://gustavus.edu/econ-mgmt/cup.php, an innovative and collaborative pitch competition that showcases the creative entrepreneurial spirit that Gustavus students bring to their startup endeavors. (This work equates to 2 course equivalents.) Help cultivate a welcoming community where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We strive to foster an environment where people can be themselves, build community, learn, and grow. Things you can choose to do: Improve your teaching by joining a teaching circle, participating in workshops, applying for an internal teaching development grant, and engaging in conversations about teaching with colleagues across campus. Advance your scholarship by working with undergraduate research assistants, joining a writing retreat, applying for an internal grant, receiving travel funds to present at conferences, receiving help applying for external grants, and making use of our research facilities. Develop professional skills by participating in faculty meetings and committees, attending faculty development days, and taking advantage of the College\'s membership to the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD).
