Position: Video Editor

Location: Seattle, WA 98121

Term: 6 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Editing content for newscasts and digital platforms using Avid
• Assist with recording network and live feeds.
• Occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds, and specific vision requirements include close and color vision.
• Creative and efficient while producing compelling content.
• Performing the duties of the job regularly required speaking or listening and is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

• Ability to edit videos for posting on social media and websites.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role in the news.
• Communicate accurate information to co-workers in a timely manner.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate LiveU equipment for feeds and live shots.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
• Ability to follow instructions well.
• Perform regular archiving of video.
• Ability to edit video, still images, and audio for newscasts and web platforms on a consistent and clean basis.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage workflow efficiently.
• Consistently able to utilize resources available and problem-solve as needed to execute assigned duties.

Even better if you have:

• Working knowledge of Avid editing software.
• Knowledge of Avid editing software, iNews, and previous news editing experience.
• Ability to acquire network and live signals using Troll, routers, and Avid Capture Manager.
• Experience with Avid NewsCutter.
• 2-year college degree in a related field.
