FilmRise is one of the world's largest independent content distributors and an independent free streaming network. Our Digital Native division functions as a bridge between digital-born content and the larger streaming ecosystem. Digital Native works with digital-first creators and their libraries to expand reach and distribution across streaming platforms. The team post-produces dozens of seasons of creator content annually, across 16 platforms.
We are seeking to hire a full-time Video Editor with motion design experience and a keen editorial eye to join the three-person team to assist with our rapidly expanding slate of programming.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-4 years of professional editing and post-production experience.
- Experience collaborating with creators, influencers and/or digital publishers.
- Experience assembling produced video packages, such as branded or digital-first content.
- Demonstrated technical and instinctual abilities as a video editor and motion designer working in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. (Additional animation software capabilities a plus.)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Track high-volume assets and production progress on various internal and external logs.
- Work with Video Producer in coordinating entire external and internal delivery process on Digital Native projects. Including overseeing delivery timelines and elements and ensuring that delivery is to spec.
- Responsible for ensuring Digital Content project production processes remain on schedule and that all relevant internal departments are aware of changes or updates.
- Create motion graphics packages specific to creator brand/theme (title sequence, graphic interstitial, lower thirds, end card).
- Create and compile raw metadata for Digital Content in-line with internal guidelines.
- Export and deliver repackaged programs to delivery, sales, and marketing teams in line with the post schedule.
- Aid in the assembly of Digital Content assets under the supervision of Video Producer and Director.
- Ad hoc admin support, as needed.
- Execute re-packaging strategies under the guidance of Video Producer and Director, including curating and editing videos, consolidating the content into the required formats, and removing prohibited video elements (call to actions, URLs, logos, branding, censoring, etc).
- Interface with Creator/Creator’s representatives/agents as content is onboarded and shepherds the content through the post-production process into broadcast runtimes.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven meticulous organizational skills & attention to detail.
- Great communicator and team player.
- Enthusiasm for digital first content, such as YouTube Creators and Influencers.
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for content verticals such as lifestyle, true crime, gaming and/or esports, cooking, anime, Vtubers, etc. a major plus.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite.
- College degree and background in film, television, and or digital content editing.
