UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications is looking for a part-time (24 hours/week) Video and Digital Content Producer to develop compelling video content that inspires people to choose UW Medicine for care by using a variety of digital channels, including TikTok and YouTube.
This position requires ideation, storytelling and design editing skills to produce well-executed videos. We are looking for someone comfortable owning the whole process, from storyboarding to delivery. This role requires an understanding of storytelling fundamentals and a keen sense of newsworthiness and social media trends. It also requires a mission-driven focus and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion when developing content.
Knowledge of content marketing is highly desirable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Video and Content Creation:
  • Ideate, produce and edit videos, including storyboarding, on-site production, motion graphics, final packaging and delivery.

  • Work on social media content, including video and visual assets. Producing and editing dynamic pieces of content for social distribution.

  • Quick video editing for smaller projects.

  • Write and edit scripts.

  • Use storyboards to communicate and conceptualize with stakeholders and design assets for visual presentation.

  • Post-production editing, audio tweaking, design content creation, and animating using Adobe Creative Cloud or other similar tools.

  • Project Management:
  • Provide expert guidance and direction to teams on video content and editing.

  • Communicate creative feedback to internal team and agencies.

  • Obtain necessary approvals and communicate plans to relevant stakeholders; ensure brand consistency across projects.

  • Establish, maintain and document appropriate processes and best practices. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Work alongside the creative, editorial, marketing and strategic communications teams to develop an overall video strategy and content production calendar.

  • Work collaboratively with writers and designers to ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception and visual identity.

  • Plan and organize external photography and videography resources when needed.


  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, film editing or related degree AND a minimum of 3 years of experience creating and producing videos.

  • Additional requirements:
  • Excellent research, writing and editing skills.

  • Able to create visual content optimized for different platforms on social media using video, photography and graphic design.

  • Post-production and editing of video and photography.

  • Excellent creative skills and a great eye for detail.

  • Ability to multitask several creative projects.

  • Experience using video and audio editing software and programs

  • Ability to think up creative ideas to promote a brand in innovative ways.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in creating content for TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.

  • Knowledge of content marketing.

  • Active social media user with experience in various social channels.

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom and other Adobe Creative Suite programs.

  • Knowledge of music is a bonus.

  • Professional portfolio of creative content work.

  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND
  • This position allows for a hybrid telework schedule. Remote work is allowed but must attend in-office days at the South Lake Union office, currently held once per month, plus additional required meetings or events at the manager’s discretion.
  • May require travel to various locations to gather information and assist with activities.

  • Maintain regular office hours Monday through Friday and occasional evening and weekend work to assist with communications or events.

  • This is an essential position, meaning the individual is required to report to work when the University is under suspended operations due to inclement weather, etc.
