About The Job


This position is responsible for assisting victims of crime and surviving families as they go through Adult and Juvenile criminal justice system processes. The incumbent will primarily advocate and support victims in the Juvenile Justice System and provide support and information about the justice system; recommend referrals to community resources; provide juvenile victim/offender mediation; and assist with protective orders. The incumbent serves as a liaison between crime victims and the District Attorney's Office; the justice system; law enforcement; and community organizations.


This position works Monday through Friday 8:00- 5:00 pm in an office and court environment. Candidate must be on call throughout the month and have the ability to respond after hours to support crime victims.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist victims in collecting reimbursements.
  • Provide information to crime victims about their rights throughout the adult and juvenile criminal justice systems.
  • Provide and document information about restitution, and crime victims compensation
  • Document services provided in a variety of data information systems.
  • Work alongside Deputy District Attorneys, Juvenile Justice professionals and Law Enforcement to provide support and safety services to crime victims.

  • Protective Orders available in Oregon.

$4,629.30 to $6,203.69 per month for a 172.67 hour work month. .7 of the position is limited duration. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This union-represented position is available immediately.

Minimum Qualifications


  • OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Services, or related field;
  • AND one (1) year of social services case management or criminal justice system experience;


Preferred Qualifications


  • Three years experience in a related field to Criminal Justice and Social Services.


Necessary Special Requirements


Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.


Candidates will be required to attend a 40-hour Victims' Assistance Academy in Oregon within the first 12 months of hire date.


Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) and CJIS certification from the State of Oregon are required within six months of hire.
