Job Description

SUMMARY:


Manages and coordinates all supply chain staff and activities in compliance with Ethical Sourcing Standards to include sourcing, procurement and logistics (traffic, warehouse, customer service, and order fulfillment) to integrating these activities with other functions including marketing, sales, finance and information technology to ensure optimal resource use, minimal total costs, and maximum value to the customer.This position also coordinates and collaborates with channel partners, which can be suppliers, co-packers, distribution centers and customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

1.Ensures optimal resource use, minimizes total costs, creates maximum value to the customer by conducting a strategical analysis of the infrastructure; studying vendors, operations, logistics and customer needs; developing benchmarks to monitor performance; and recommending changes as needed to ensure activities meet strategic goals that are aligned with the corporate mission.

2.Responsible for compliance and implementation of the organization’s Ethical Sourcing Standards/policies related to Supplier/Vendor Practices. Participates in an annual review ofHR, Vendor/Suppliers, and Environmental practicesin conjunction with the VP of Human Resources andthe Manager of Environmental Affairs, to insure adherence to said standards.

3.Integrates all supply chain activities by coordinating with other functions including marketing, sales, manufacturing, vendors, co-packers, distribution centers, IT systems, accounting, and customers.

4.Maintains staff and ensures results by selecting employees with the best fit of competencies, ensuring that job tasks are aligned with company strategic focus, ensuring that job duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability are defined and understood by the subordinate; monitoring performance, coaching, appraising job results, and praising/ disciplining as necessary.

5.Supports manufacturing by ensuring delivery of materials and equipment for production within schedule and budget.

6.Sustains competitive product pricing by serving as the chief negotiator for procurement of materials, warehouse contracts, and traffic costs.

7.Builds relationships by interacting with customers and vendors as needed.

8.Meets customer requirements by controlling the logistics of the flow, storage, service, and related activities between the point of origin and the point of consumption.

9.Maintains inter- and intradepartmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.

10.Achieves organization’s financial goals by preparing a supply chain budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

11.Complies with legal requirements by understanding existing legislation, anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

12.Preserves historical reference by establishing and maintaining record-keeping system; documenting procedures and decisions, and maintaining required documentation.

13.Maintains trust, confidence and protects the company by keeping information confidential and disclosing only on a need to know basis.Ensures high ethical standards for self and staff. Fosters a spirit of respect, trust and cooperation; and upholds organization’s reputation in the community.

14.Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Contributes to the Company effort by continually looking for ways to improve productivity and customer orientation within department by use of better technology, procedures, and use of resources.

15.Maintains professional and technical knowledge/skills by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies and using the performance appraisal system to assess personal strengths and development needs to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization.

Essential knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

ØCollege degree in Business with preferred degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management/Logistics.

ØFive to seven years experience in production control, supply chain management

ØAbility to lead and manage staff.

ØStrong computer and Microsoft applications software proficiency..

ØGood working knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, etc. with the ability to read and write reports, policies, and procedures.

ØAbility to analyze and understand the nature of the business; how initiatives will impact the strategic plan, financial resources, and human resources.

ØAbility to visualize creative initiatives and make recommendations to ensure optimal resource use, minimize total costs, and maximize value to the customer.

ØAbility to communicate one-on-one and with small groups, to facilitate meetings, to listen actively, to persuade others to accept recommendations and to negotiate contracts.

ØAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations in a timely manner.

ØAbility to be detail oriented, ensure accuracy, and meet deadlines.

ØAbility to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

ØAbility to maintain confidentiality.

ØAbility to be self-motivated and results oriented to accomplish objectives on schedule.

ØAbility to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff, outside contractors and contacts, and government officials to gain information and support in accomplishing goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary but requires driving locally.Requires some travel on commercial transportation to attend meetings.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must possess valid motor vehicle operator’s license that is not under suspension or revocation and possess current automobile insurance coverage
