Job Summary
The VP Operations – Procurement will lead all direct and indirect sourcing & procurement activity across sourcing, contracting, procure to pay processes, invoicing. The scope of control is $96M in direct spend and $61M in indirect spend. The leader will manage a team of 8 procurement FTEs.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all source to pay activities related to raw material, packaging, and corporate indirects.
- Own and drive the Transformation Program for Procurement, delivering more than $3M in EBITDA impact for FY24.
- Support new product development activity, including participating in the NPD process, identify new vendors for raw materials, negotiate pricing and/or exclusivity agreements where appropriate.
- Proactively partner with Marketing to reduce complexity and SKU counts in raw materials and packaging and reduce the number of single sourced items significantly over the next 18-24 months.
- Lead the development of category sourcing strategies, including spend baseline management, supply market intelligence, sourcing cadence and calendar, supplier development, make vs. buy approaches etc.
- Drive 3-4% year-over-year productivity through continuous improvement projects, net of commodity inflation.
- Account for the performance of BBCO’s procure to pay process, including PO requisition, PO issuance, invoicing, and vendor payment, including establishing standard payment terms.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure that BBCO vendors are following all local and country-level laws and regulations for employee pay, child labor, employee safety and wellness.
- Partner with BBCO Quality and S&OP functions to ensure vendor fill rates are consistently above 90%
- Establish a supplier code of conduct.
- Establish clear delegation of authority and decision rights for PO approval.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of procurement leadership experience, with a track record of leading category teams in direct materials, delivering significant year-over-year cost improvements. Prefer candidates with direct experience in food & beverage categories, for e.g., food-grade ingredients, packaging etc.
- Experience with advanced procurement analytics, e.g., should cost models, regression-based cost analysis, product cost teardowns. Ideal candidate would have deployed procurement spend analytics tools.
- Experience leading procurement transformation initiatives across multiple workstreams and building internal team capabilities in areas like analytics and sourcing category management.
- Direct category experience in natural ingredients would be preferred.
- Trained in industry leading sourcing frameworks, e.g., 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- High level of proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Tableau or Power BI
